Swearingen Transport Ventilator Simulation Scenarios
Noted EMS author Charles Swearingen has just developed 12 transport ventilator cases specifically for the SimVS platform which place learners into real-life situations as never before. Using a unique interactive format students will learn to crack the code of lifesaving transport ventilation.
Scenario Features:
Each scenario presents a challenging situation where students must determine initial ventilator settings and then manage a patient through 2-3 additional updates. At each decision point students are presented with options and can choose their own path as they navigate through the scenarios. Rationales for all choices are presented.
Patient information includes: History, Hemodyamics, ABG and correct vent settings
Case Topics:
Case 1: Asthma Exacerbation
Case 2: COPD
Case 3: Infant Pneumonia
Case 4: Closed head Injury
Case 5: Cardiogenic Shock
Case 6: Pediatric Severe Anaphylaxis
Case 7: MVC Rollover with chest trauma
Case 8: Inhalation Burns 5 hours s/p burn
